It is just a square, in front of the town hall - nothing special about the place, to be honest (however looking at the pictures, I believe it is quite interesting place during the New Year's Eve). "The added value" of the place are the...More

We took off to the Brisbane cbd and decided to visit the museum. It is free and very interesting. Especially the big clock tour, right next to king George square.

Feels like I am in Europe with a few squares in this city especially this big square. Big space in the city centre. Lots of people, cafes and activities. Quite lively even in the evening/night. Very nice with the night lights.

What were they thinking when they designed and built this place - dark stone that traps the heat and stings the eyes - no shade - does not fit with the surrounding City Hall

King George Square is an open public space in the centre of Brisbane and is surrounded by fine buildings including the Museum of Brisbane and two churches. The military inspired statues are a reminder of sacrifice and courage.

The statue of King George grandfather of QE reminds us of Good old British history. The nearby small red church makes this a square worth visiting.
