    Our Favourite
Probably our favourite part of the city after our 5 day stay in Brisbane. We kept gravitating back towards it, Felons Pub in particular. Great vibe from the boardwalk, great views of the river, the bridge and the. Cityscape. It was a Great place to spend an aforenoon or an evening.

    Vibrant dining and bar area
Vibrant dining and entertainment precinct beside Brisbane River (north bank near CBD). Very popular and busy the night I visited for dinner. Wide variable of restaurants (different cuisines) and bars. Caught a ferry back to the city. Take a wander.

History and lifestyle in one place.
Located beneath the Story Bridge, the Howard Smith Wharves is home to 13 restaurants and a hotel. Originally build in the 1930s as a relief project during the Great Depression. It stood empty for nearly 60 years before the redevelopment began turning it into what it is today.

Had lunch from the Fish & Chippery today and ordered the classic fish and chips. What a classic mistake that was. Went to place the order on a quick second read, the fish came with chips OR a leaf salad. A mixed salad was another $5 and yes, that's $31 for fish, chips and salad. At $26, it should come with everything. I ordered the fish (snapper) n chips and my lunch partner begrudgingly parted with $31 for the fish (snapper), chips and salad. The buzzer went off, for that money you'd half expect table service but I digress, and collected our meals. Didn't order a starter I thought; no this was lunch. Ok, maybe fish will be nice. Wrong. Dry, overcooked and no more that 6 or 7 bites worth with a bunch of chips straight out of a McCains catering pack. Lunch partner's was no better and the mixed salad was an abysmal failure. Not sure what it was mixed with, we came to the conclusion it was air because there was nothing vaguely resembling what 99% of the salad eating world would consider to be a mixed salad. In short, avoid the Fish and Chippery, there are much better places to eat.

Perfect venue, fabulous view, should be a Brisbane icon. The staff are great and could not fault the service.
Be warned, the internal dining venue/atmosphere is designed for party revellers. Bad/noisy funky jazz style monotonous music blaring forth. Way too loud and annoying to support a group of six trying to have any sort of dinner and conversation. Some random surfing video on the big screen.
Even more sadly, the food and drink were sub-standard, especially for the inflated pricing. If you are a red wine drinker don't go!!! $70 a bottle was the cheapest. Fell for the Pinot at $37 but it is a mini bottle which you don't realise from the picture.
Food could never be great when they are trying to cater for hundreds of people but prices suggest this is fancy food. Seven meals our table ordered, not one enjoyed there meal enough to say we would ever go back.
Their signature in house brewed beer!!! Sorry guys but your lager is watery, thin and those citrusy tones are not a classic lager.
Overall, the cost of parking at $40 set the tone for an expensive night where we all left feeling very dissatisfied and slightly ripped-off. We all went to Baskin and Robbins for ice-cream. Saved about $100 on dessert and felt much better.

We have not been here for ages. We we’re impressed with the number and growth of the shrubs over 12 months. Service at GiGis was friendly but slow - there was only one barista making coffee and serving. Also lots of takeaway cups which is surprising these days. No spoons either only forks but at least these were recycled. A nice setting on a lovely morning.

Thank you to the security staff who found our lost items we left on a seat. Very professional response from staff who handled my initial enquiry on 19/1/20 late afternoon to locating my shopping bag. Well done it meant a lot to us especially items bought for our grandkids.

Since I was last at Howard Smith Wharves (HSW) I noticed a large open grassy area has now been filled with wooden table and chairs resembling an ugly beer garden, the whole place felt crowded in, and that's without people, and not at all appealing. It is a shame to see what has happened as for a long period of time the HSW were rundown and not utilised. Yes there are wonderful views of the city and river and several choices for drinking/dining out, it would not be my choice or recommendation to visit. Very average.

Ordered from the Fish place -Overpriced and really bad service. Used my app to first order drinks then food. Part of the food came out then the next part but no drinks after half an hour. Bug bun is tiny and mostly batter for $16! Asked waitress to see if our drinks were coming which she said she would but still nothing after 10 minutes. Went up to the bar to show my receipt and let them know we were waiting for drinks and the bar tender said theyd made all the drinks that had been ordered - no apology but said he would bring to our table. 10 more minutes still nothing. Went to the bar and said we were waiting for drinks and received a reply - oh havent u got them? Waited at the bar till our drinks were poured. We dont pay $15 for a glass of beer and $10 for a very small glass of ginger beer to have to constantly follow up and wait this long. Management whats going on here! Will look at the views but not order here again.

This is a reasonably new and welcome addition to Brisbane’s Dining and Bar scene. Lovely location under the Storey Bridge and a waterfront location. Construction is underway to have its own ferry stop. We visited this venue twice during our visit to Brisbane. Once during the day and once at night to take photos of the bridge at night. During the day was pleasant but at night extremely busy and we couldn’t get a waterfront seat drinking spot. Lots of bars and restaurants are located here.

I’m a local and I have to say, I love this place. My ideal day/night is to be able to sit outside, under the sun or the stars, grab a drink or two, maybe something to eat, and watch the world go by. And yes, it gets extremely busy and loud but you can usually get away from it. Glad there are now some more food venues/options - new restaurants and food vans so all budgets covered. Great location for everyone, including pets! I’ve seen people mainly with dogs but a few “bird walkers.” Have to say though that depending on which bet you might be at, staff can give off a bit of an attitude. Appreciate it’s a busy environment, but tuck the attitude away. Loving the tennis on the big screen set up at the moment. Plenty of chairs, bean bags and umbrellas to relax in.
