Have just traveled from Brisbane to Townsville on the tilt train, Or the Queenslander as it is known, and enjoyed this night trip. Would love to do this during daylight hours to enjoy the countryside.

A very comfortable trip, not fast really - 10 hours to travel 600 km - but the seats a very comfortable, the onboard food is cheap and pretty good and the scenery great.

September is the early Spring for Australia and the tilt train is usually cooler but they do provide blankets, as I recall.
