Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was very busy at Galloo Dairyland today. I wasn't go8ng to rate it very highly but we bought the $20 cheese tasting platter and my estimation of the place grew exponentially. The cheeses we chose were lovely but the macadam cheese was to die for.We need to get some more

We visited Gallo Dairyland on a busy Saturday afternoon but the service was fast and efficient. While the kids enjoyed the milking and animal farm, we bought cheese and chocolates (all of which were fantastic). Unfortunately, there is no on site tasting during COVID but with its great reputation and obvious popularity, we had no issues taking recommendations from the friendly staff.

Just called in here as it was on the way home from our trip to Kuranda and on the list of things to do and see. What a lovely spot to take the kids, lots of animals for them to see. The adults can enjoy purchasing some delicious cheeses and chocolates as well as being able to see it all being made. We enjoyed a lovely cheese platter with the choice of 6 cheeses for $35 I think it was and we had a glass of wine with it. 4 of us only just managed to get through all the cheese.

This place is not just a cafe with good chocolate & cheese, but visitors can actually view the milking of the dairy cows, the chocolate making and the cheese making. One can even order a cheese platter and then enjoy that in the super cool cheese making viewing room. This variety of activities and food makes it an interesting place. Be mindful of the reduced opening days (Wednesday - Sunday).

Stopped on a tour for morning tea. Served SOP sad scones cream jam. blah. Please buy our cheese that we are not promoting in any way though!!!!! Back on bus, most didnt even know they could look at anything other than the restaurant............ Feels like someone tried at once here! But not now. A big group comes, offer a 3 min talk, your cheese instead of sad cream and scones..... slow and sad tea/coffee. Didnt try cheese as no tastings, and i felt a poor feeling of pride of your business. Not below average as I saw cattle doing their BEST! Hard pass.

What an absolute delight this place was. It was amazing to see a fully functioning dairy farm. We watched the cows being milked which the kids loved. There was an area where the baby animals were kept which the kids loved. They could pat the calves and got chased by a couple of crazy geese. Afterwards we had a beautiful lunch inside the restaurant. I ordered a small cheese tasting platter which was huge and well worth the money. Got to take the leftovers home as well which was good. Bought some cheese and chocolates and ended the visit off with ice cream. A fantastic and educational trip for the kids and what made it even more memorable was as we were driving up the Palmerston Highway a Cassowary was walking up the road and walked straight past us!

We ended up visiting twice due to 2 separate tours and we didn't mind one bit. The first tour included lunch and bought some cheeses. The 2nd tour was a cheese tasting and we bought some chocolate. This is a very worthwhile place to visit. The cheeses are excellent quality and well priced and the chocolate is also of very high quality. Would recommend.

We had a brief stop here as we love cheese and thought to buy some to take with us to eat later. The choice was a bit different and over whelming but we chose the Gallostello Blue and Macadamia Cheese. I was assured they were both popular and in fact someone had been in the day before and cleaned the window out of the Macadamia I was told as was told this was hugely popular. We had a taste of the Blue which at the time we were satisfied with but we were in a bit of a hurry. Well neither cheese we finished and I was completely under whelmed with both cheeses. The blue had a brown tinge to it and a strange flavour- not pleasant and the Macadamia was just ok. Perhaps it is because I am used to NZ cheeses which are amazing and just found the ones I had chosen at their recommendation to fall right below par. I would save my $20 spent on the two cheeses and wouldn’t bother with this place again.

Quite a let down. We had very high hopes for an authentic real hot chocolate, especially after we were told that’s what they make. Instead, it was lukewarm milk and almost like they’d forgot to put in the chocolate. The cheese was okay and the chocolates were nice but the service felt like it was all about rushing you through to the till and out the door. And yes, the stench was overpowering. Won’t go back.

Get prepared for the smell of a dairy and let's be frank... that smells like sh*t! haha
Cheese tasting was awesome. The chocolates are delicious but they should put the chocolate ingredients somewhere on display or at least behind the counter but available for anyone who wants to check. I'd have bought some if they were listed on it.
Liked the animal nursery and patting the calves. Watching the milking was good but kind of sad at the same time. It's important to be able to see where food comes from so this is really a valuable experience for people.

Have you fixed up your coffee yet and made it a stronger decent one? I have not been there but would like to and I like a decent coffee, yet all your reviews are aimed at the poor quality. Even the recent 2015 ones. Have you made adjustments?
