This day trip can be taken as train up and down, train up and sky-rail down or vice versa. I am scared of heights but managed the sky-rail easily as you are passing over the top of the rainforest, making the height not seem as bad. The views going down on the sky-rail are spectacular.

We booked this tour based upon the experiences of previous travellers reviews and were not disappointed at all. Well worth the money. While we had absolutely fantastic weather we are sure this would be a tour that could be enjoyed regardless of the weather conditions.

We opted for the half day tour where we were picked up by coach to catch the 12.30 skyrail to Kuranda. Fantastic experience seeing the rainforest from above and 2 stops along the way with an opportunity to stroll through the forest (we were lucky enough to see a young emu). Kuranda village is OK but 1 to 2 hours... More

Train up to Kuranda and Skyrail back is the best options as you get the best of both worlds. The train ride is really relaxing with great scenery, including a stop to view a large waterfall. There is lots to do up at Kuranda, markets, butterfly scantury, birds, restaurants, shops etc

This ride was an exceptional way to see the forest from above as well fantastic transportation to see Barron Falls and the quaint town of Kuranda. It was quite peaceful and relaxing on the Skyrail while we were viewing the beautiful coast of Cairns, the tropical forest on the mountain as well arriving quite comfortably to the wonderful small village... Pleasant train ride up to Kuranda rain forest where we departed to go to "the village". Granted, it didn't say what kind of village, but since we were in Aboriginal lands, I assumed it would be a native village with locals crafts for sale. It was a huge shopping village - opals, paintings, etc. Very disappointed. The train was fun, the... More

A leisurely ride up by train passing through many tunnels and over several bridges spanning forest gorges. The station at Kuranda was very picturesque . We had lunch at a small Vietnamese cafe which was cheap and tasty. After lunch we had a riverside cruise feeding the fish and spotting baby turtles before descending by skyrail. The skyrail experience for... More

My husband and I visited Kuranda whilst on our honeymoon. We started by parking our car at Strathfield skyrail. We then caught one of the buses up to where the trainride commences. The trainride took about 1.5hrs and was fantastic, very scenic and relaxing. We went normal class but I do wish we had paid extra and travelled gold-class as... More

We started off in the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural park where we had lunch then we did the Skyrail trip up to Kuranda. This was a brilliant experience with breathtaking views down below of the rain forest and the coastal area around Cairns. The trip took about an hour as we got off at Red Peak where Rangers are at hand... More
