Boarded the Skyrail at Kuranda to descend down to Smithton. Hopped off at the two mid stations and viewed the Atherton tablelands and rainforest vistas. Well worth the cost which was about $100 for the train and skyrail combined. Helped fill in half a day...More

Do the whole thing... up by Rail back by Cable Car after lunch at Kuranda makes for a terrific day, not strenuous apart from a walk up the hill into Kuranda. Lots of eateries and history, views are scenic and the train is a lovely...More

We did Skyrail up and train down which I think is the most popular combination. Skyrail is one way not to miss.

I would suggest you check for tours to the Daintree Rainforest. It isn't far from Cairns, so you should be able to find one that suits the limited time you will have in the area.

I can't see any reason why a 4 month pregnant woman would have any difficulty, unless she was very afraid of heights. It is very relaxed and comfortable.
