We came upon these gardens by accident and they are free to explore. Do not miss this experience if you are in Cairns. Fantastic. There is so much to see.

Went to the gardens to primarily view the air plants, bromides and orchids. Beautiful, lushest garden, were not disappointed with the air plants bromides and orchids. Enjoyed a mango smoothie at the cafe on the way out.

Cairns Botanic Gardens embraces rainforest trees, a new orchid display centre, bromeliads and many more interesting and rare leafy features. Free guided walks are provided, while two cafe's and a visitors' information centre add to the appeal. The Gardens continue across the dividing motorway, Collins Avenue, into a saltwater habitat and a waterlily-covered freshwater lake with wildlife including fish, ducks... More

Have visited a number of times to this little slice of paradise in Edge Hill. I do recommend that you take advantage of a guided tour, provided courtesy of the wonderful volunteers. Their knowledge is priceless for those of us still learning the flora and fauna of the tropical north. Also, it is a hot steamy environment, so if you're... More

Cairns botanical gardens were one of the best botanical gardens which me and my wife have visited. All the exhibits were labeled properly and it had a wide array of plants which we saw for the first time. The best attraction was the rainforest board walk, which simulated the feel of a real rainforest. Cairns botanical gardens are also the... More

Had a lovely morning at the gardens with my mum and 2 kids 3 and 5. Being a little cooler in the gardens helped and they are truly beautiful. Can be a little hilly with a pram.
