We visit Townsville regularly and was great to uncover the town we grew up in with Bob for a morning stroll on the 'Bridge to Bridge' tour. We were a little unsure if the warmth would get to us along the way, but Bob kept the pace nice and leisurely with plenty of shady spots to stop, chat and rehydrate along the way. Bob really brought to life the scandals, heroes and local urban legends that had us walking away with an appreciation of his passion and local knowledge. Feeling very glad that we joined him for the 2hr tour. We are still chatting about the unsolved murders! Great tour and would recommend a walk with Bob for those pressed for time and wanting to orientate themselves with Townsville.

Joined in on walking history tour of Townsville.Tour was very informative, learned a lot about Townsville city area that I didn,t know about before. Tour guide "Bob"was very informative and definitely knew his historical facts about Townsville. Also, halfway through the tour we stopped at a cafe and had morning tea, which was also excellent. Over all, a great learning experience of our beautiful city.

A very entertaining tour that was full of wondrous tales about Townsville! Our friendly tour guide Bob had an endless amount of knowledge that he willingly shared with us enthusiastically. We moved around the city visiting various sites which kept the experience that much more special. The morning tea was scrumptious in a cafe that had lots of unique paintings and historical pieces around the building. We had alot of fun and learned so many great things that we HAVE to recommend it to any travelers that would like to spend a nice morning out learning things that you'll never forget! PS. I really liked the story about how Townsville got its name!

A delightful morning was spent strolling around the CBD. Bob, our tour guide, is bursting with knowledge of Townsville's history, and the accent of his tour is on people and events, rather than buildings. And what a rich history we have. Bob brings it all to life. We made more than 20 stops during the three hour tour, which were mostly in shady seating areas, so easily handled by the not so fit. Our longest stop was for morning tea at the Cafe Nova in Blackwood Street. What an appropriate choice for a history tour; the owners have many collectibles to view and each participant was served with a plate of ham sandwiches and the old fashioned home made peach blossom. Bob's knowledge of Townsville is impeccable, and he was also pleased to add to this with stories from participants. Townsville has produced a surprising number of "firsts" - by people with ideas, structures, events, inventions - which have had an impact on the way Australia has been shaped. We should feel very proud of our city. Bob's head is full of heartening, gruesome, courageous and every day living stories of by-gone days. He also scotched a few local myths by researching to get the hard facts! I came away with new knowledge that Bob shared with the group in a most entertaining way. Well worth the $75 fee.
