Only need a couple of hours, facilities only OK and expensive to get to by the flyer. They were burning trash on the beach and letting the tide take it to sea. Could spend your time better at the lagoon in Cairns

Easy walk to the lighthouse and back over the peak, a bit more strenuous. I suggest you go to the lighthouse first as the track is quite steep from the back of the hotel or camp grounds.

We went over on the 11am boat, which did not leave much time to do the island justice; had time for a quick lunch, then mum and my partner had a wonderful time snorkelling, before we went on the glass bottom boat. Both enjoyed their...More

Whether you walk to the Summit and Lighthouse or snorkel in the crystal clear water this National Park is absolutely beautiful. Not to be missed if traveling through Cairns.

A beautiful island, but treat yourself and stay a night or 4 and really take in all it has to offer!

Did a day tour to Fitzroy Island. Make sure you bring appropriate footwear to enable you to swim and get around. Paths and beaches are not sand and coral rips your feet apart as I unfortunately found out.

We spent 3.5 hours actually on the island as part of a day trip. The snorkelling is amazing but can depend a lot on the weather. We were here on a sunny calm day. I love to snorkel and my wife also loves to get...More

A beautiful place for relaxing not much else to do for anyone not wanting to dive and snorkel. I had a lovely trip on the reef. Food disappointing on the boat.

I was very surprised how amazing Fitzroy island is. Bring your thongs as the beach is mostly coral and can be uncomfortable on your bare skin. Nuddies beach is the best, plenty of shade and more sand. Snorkelling was easy and plenty of fish close...More

Very efficient ferry service to the island, but once the boats disgorge hundreds of day visitors, you face long queues for the loos with only 3 cubicles available and no changing areas, so the loos are taken up with people changing in them. Absolutely ridiculous...More

You can camp, not sure who you contact. Probably Queensland Parks. When we were there in July the camping ground wasn't to busy. It's small but they are building cabins. Facilities looked clean and it's just next to the... More
