Stunningly beautiful, surrounded by timber giants, and so quiet and remote. It is hard to believe that this peaceful spot once bustled with a vibrant community including a school where 40 children were enrolled, and the timber industry was in full cry. Well done conservationists. The forest has reclaimed its own.

it was originally a forestry camp but now is a camping ground. the logging company took everything once they left so some houses have been built as replicas. there are walks that you can do around the area that are beautiful. the water in the creek is so clear it doesn't even look like there's any water. you can see... Popular with visitors it can be busy & access tracks bumpy. But well worth it! Gorgeous vegetation & crystal clear water- so clean & clear on a sandy bottom it's hard to 'see' the water unless a leaf floats by! Each time I visit Fraser Island I always stop to walk the boardwalk & view this stunning creek running through... More

Walking / hiking and I don't usually get along however I really enjoyed the trail through the rainforest. The variety, size and age of the trees was outstanding and it was really nice to feel part of nature. Lots of lizards scurrying about along with other creatures and the sing song of different birds made this an excellent experience. Take... More

We really enjoyed our bush walk through this area and felt we were back in the Jurassic period. We could not get over how clear and clean the creek and surrounds were. The area is so well cared for and feels totally unspoilt. A little slice of paradise in this modern, busy world.

Central Station is beautiful and nice for a walk around to see all the history items. Its quiet and not too much of a tourist spot but still lovely to go to.

After leaving lake MacKenzie if you drive south you will get to central station. It is an old sawmill town and us really the best spot to check out fraser amazing rainforest and wanggoolba creek. There is a short walk along the creek which allows you to check out the silent clear beauty of the stream as well as the... More
