    Visit to Adelaide Zoo
What a day at Adelaide Zoo. Usually whe you visit the lion enclosure, they are a bit uninspiring, boring even. But today, the lioness was definitely having a bad day; she was lunging at the fence towards anyone who would look at her. Very exciting. Then there were the three new tiger cubs - just beautiful. A palm frond had fallen into the enclosure and had scared the life out of them - they were now determined to “kill” it. The icing on the cake was the panda exhibit. They were on the move. We hadn’t seen pandas in the flesh and they didn’t disappoint. Well done Adelaide Zoo we had a great visit.

    Brilliant
I haven’t been to the zoo in quite some time and it definitely lived up to our expectations. All the animals look healthy and happy which is always what we want to see. The keepers work with such passion and empathy. Keep up the good work. We didn’t book in any experiences for the day, but we did enjoy watching everyone else get to have interactive experiences- something we will consider for the future.

    Adelaide Zoo
Spent a lovely day at the zoo. Most of the animals were out and about. The zoo is not a big as Perth zoo but is just as pretty and green. Be sure to check out the Panda’s and the tiger cubs. It is worth getting a two day pass and visit the zoo on day one then day two take a drive to Monarto Safari Park.

    Perfect Pandas
I've seen a lot of zoos around Australia and some of the best ranked in the world and Adelaide Zoo is up there with those. The pandas were a delight, every-thing was clean and the surrounds were well kept. Definitely worth a visit.

Wild Experience at the Adelaide Zoo
I had a $250 voucher to use at either Adelaide or Monarto zoos. This was my 50th birthday present for me to do tiger and lions experience, however due to covid the "CAT" experience is no longer on offer so I was left a little upset. However, I was very happy to be able to do 3 experiences along with my sister at the Adelaide Zoo Feeding the Meerkats, Giraffes and finally feed the penguins. We loved every part of it - the staff were so knowledgeable and friendly as were the animals. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves even though the weather was not too kind.

    Personal Panda Party
Easy access on 98C free bus from city centre. Only way I will ever see a Panda and they were up close, active and only a couple other people there. I wish they had non reflective glass to have caught the moment I was face to face with a panda through the glass. Reflections made photography impossible until they moved outside and we were separated by a moat. Sad to see lion, tiger, giraffe, birds so constricted but that's the same with any zoo. I appreciated seeing pink legged Jabiru up close having just come from NT.

    Fantastic Family Experience
Monarto exceeded expectations! From the amazing reception by the dedicated volunteers to the enthusiastic informative bus attendants, the visit was really enjoyable! The environment that has been created for the impressive collection of animals is brilliant and we can’t wait to see the expansion plans open to the public. Well done Monarto, this will be a regular destination for the family.

"Bear cats" are stars of Adelaide Zoo
Adelaide Zoo has Australia's only panda pair. Unfortunately, the black and white pandas have not reproduced. Soon their term as Australia's only breeding panda pair will be up. The pandas are much-loved by the people of Adelaide. See them while you can. By the way, in China, where pandas are found, they are called "sheng mao" or "bear cats."

    Amazing morning
Booked panda and friends. Amazing experience. More than worth the money. Included early entry to the zoo, morning tea and guided tour. Tour guide Rob was fantastic. You need to try this if you can afford to. Thank you Adelaide Zoo

    One of the best zoos
This is one of the best zoos we have visited. It is pretty centrally located with only a short walk from the convention centre. The walk to the zoo is very nice (caution with bats on the trees in the park) and my little one was not bored walking to the zoo. The panda enclosure is a short stroll from the entrance. Wang Wang and Funi have been well looked after at the zoo and will be sad to see them retuning "home" in late 2024, if their visas run out. Great variety of animals at the zoo, and some can easily move from one enclosure to another. The animal encounters are reasonably priced. The layout of the zoo is easy to follow and facilities are well maintained. Great play space for the kids. We will definitely return in the near future. Hopefully by then, either Wang Wang and Funi stay or perhaps different pandas. The zoo membership from the reciprocal zoos (e.g., Victorian zoos) is also recognised by Adelaide Zoo (definitely a bonus point).

Fri 26th April, I went to Monarto with my hubby & 31 year old son. We decided to walk the Zoo and do the bus trip later in the day - best thing. The day was not too hot so nice for walking. We got to see all the animals in their habitats. Monarto has changed alot since our previous visit in 2009 and good to see. Will be back when the Elephants are there as well. Great day, worth the drive and the cost is very good.

I hadn't initially intended to go to the zoo but heard the giant pandas were there. wonderful views of them and some other fabulous animals that we don't have in NZ. Easy to get to the zoo and to tour it. Highly recommend it.

It has been almost 10 years since I last went to Adelaide Zoo. thou I did enjoy my day, I found the zoo in some areas needs a bit of TLC.
it was annoying that some enclosures you couldn't get to the viewing area for they had big fences up.
and other enclosure are well behind compare to Melbourne zoo.
the zoo was clean and tidy

Great zoo with lovely shady gardens. We had a great time with lots to see. Some animals were not visible but this is pretty normal for zoos. We should have had lunch before visiting as the cafe food options and quality were very disappointing.

Spent over 3 hours watching the Pandas and it was fantastic to see Wang Wang but the highlight was actually seeing g Fu Ni make an appearance. Seeing her love the keepers scratch her back and then go to the outside enclosure was amazing. Wang Wang put i a great show outside. The rest of the zoo was a bit disappointing compared to Melbourne zoo. The enclosures are sooooo small.

3 giraffes, a lion and a panda…. $170AU thanks very much. As a main attraction its poor, the zoo is tired, not much to see and a-lot of displays were empty. Maybe it was too hot?
Don’t waste tour money.

We went on a hot day and most animals were out of sight we saw almost nothing. The Orangutans enclosure was closed, baboons/monkeys closed and there were not even any koalas…… all in all not a worthwhile visit and the zoo should be more open about what is and isn’t open.

From the animals to the grounds and facilities, so well maintained and a pleasure to walk around. Even loved being able to buy a selection of plants that are growing throughout the zoo. Definitely recommend, especially if you are a first time visitor or haven’t been recently.
