Description:

Great Expeditions deliver tours of Tasmania that give you what you want....

Great Expeditions deliver tours of Tasmania that give you what you want. Most tours are private and have just you and your friends - its like having your own chauffeur service! The prices are fantastic for what you get. The guides can even dive in the ocean and grab fresh seafood for you!

Tours are in small, comfortable vehicles and are very flexible - guests often change their tours and we happily encourage them to make the most of our services and our top local knowledge. Tours operate in all weather conditions because we have backup plans that take you to the best places.

We spent the day yesterday on a private tour of the Tasman Peninsula with Remo from Great Expeditions. We spent a short while at the "unzoo" where we were able to feed the kangaroos and watch the famous "Tasmanian Devils" at close range. We then proceeded to the Port Arthur historical site which was quite beautiful despite its past as... More

Great company to use if visiting Hobart by cruise ship-easy pick up at the terminal and a full day on the Top Four tour with views from Mount Wellington and through out the city. The Female Factory tour was incredibly interesting as told by the actors on site and seeing the animals in Bonorong Park is always fun.

We did the Top 4 tour with Jim as our excellent tour guide. As there were just two of us on the tour, Jim kept things flexible depending upon the weather and our interests. Mount Wellington was pretty--the cloud cover obscured the views but it looked like you could walk on the clouds. If you drive to the top, like... More

Patrick had set up a private tour of Bonorong so we got to pet a koala and wombat as well as see the Tasmanian Devil. We got to feed the kangaroos. The hike into Mt Fields and up to Russell Falls was amazing. Our guide Nicholas took time to point out the various types of trees and answer our questions... More

The Top Four tour is a great way to see greater Hobart when you have limited time. We saw a great little waterfall, Sphinx Rock lookout, Mount Wellington, some very nice small towns, and Bonorong Animal Sanctuary. A terrific guide whose relative was the person from the Royal Navy who help establish Hobart. In all a terrific tour which we... More

We did enjoy our all day tour of Tasmania. I can't imagine anyone not enjoying Tasmania! Having sampled a little bit of the best of Tasmania, I only wish we could have spent more time there. Especially liked the small town of Richmond and did not have much time there. The only problem with a small group tour, sometimes the... More

A magnificent 5 days tour of Tasmania with Great Expeditions takes us through the most pristine environments with beauty, distinctive and contradiction that Tasmania has to offer. We were well guided by our warm and friendly tour guide Patrick who was very attentive and informative. We started our journey from Hobart, had a spectacular drive through the heart of the... More

Mountains and lakes, rivers and coastline - we had a fabulous 6 days enjoying the scenery and different experiences along the way. Patrick quickly established what we wanted as a group. Time for the energetic in our party to explore the terrain on longer walks while the rest of us did shorter bush walks or explored beaches. Highlights - Dove... More

My wife and I recently went on an excellent 3 day tour with Patrick from Great Expectations. We grow Pinot Noir wine grapes and knew the same was done in Tasmania so we decided to visit. Our request for the tour focused mainly on seeing vineyards and talking with the owners, managers, and winemakers. We wanted to hear about climate,... More

The perfect tour for anybody wanting a detailed look around Tassie without the big bus load of people with you. Our guide, Patrick was a wealth of knowledge on the flora and fauna to Tasmanian history and to the best of food and beverages on offer. My wife and I were very appreciative of the personal service provided and Patrick... More
