And we got to have a great look around this garden. So much to see and well laid out. I would allow a few hours to see this garden in full.

Breath taking gardens. There is a huge range of plants and even though we went in summer there were flowers everywhere. The tree are exceptional. So huge and green. Highly recommended. It's basically in the centre of Hobart and should be on everyone's list.

A wonderful garden that can easily be seen in a few hours. Free entrance, inexpensive parking, walking distance to downtown Hobart. There is a wonderful Japanese Garden and lots of interesting paths and views. I loved how they demonstrated the locale plants at risk and organized the garden geographically.

So many lovely aspects to these gardens. The planting around the lily pond is particularly inspired and looking gorgeous at this time of year.

We visited the gardens while in Hobart on a cruise. Had an Uber driver take us from the port, a quick and easy drive and very inexpensive. What a treat the gardens were, like a trip to England in spring. The lily pond was especially lovely. There was so much to see, huge expanses of lawn and lovely old trees... More

Rated number 2 of the 133 things to do in Hobart, by Trip Advisor, The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, open 365 days a year, was a must-see event for us. The RTBG is the second oldest botanic gardens in Australia and was established in 1818, so next year it will be celebrating its 200th birthday and what a celebration that... More

The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is very densely packed with a wide range of specimens. Trees from all over the world, ferns, local plants and even a walled of Japanese garden. We hiked from the wharf area of town, which was a few blocks of bustling streets followed by a dry and dusty path though a war memorial park. The... More

I think the Botanical Gardens were a surprise hit. Excellent quality. Really beautiful gardens. Both to wander and to sit. I'm glad we took the time to go. One of my favorite things in Hobart.

We spent our last day in Hobart at the botanical garden, waiting for the time to go to the airport. It is a very beautiful place to spend the day.
