The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) fosters the development of contemporary art. The rust-red building is quite striking. The ACCA gallery is in the Arts Precinct, a short walk from the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV). The current exhibition is "A Lightness of Spirit...More

So good to see the Visibly Queer possum skin cloak - with shields from south-eastern Victoria in pastel rainbow while the skins were preserved. "One"; "Ancestors" and "Family" were across the aisle and made from mixed media. The installation which stood out in the first...More

It's not all about the NGV! Just around the corner is the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art or ACCA. It holds an important place in the Melbourne art world - in the Australian art scene. Artistic director Max Delaney and his creative team present exhibitions...More

I came here for the exhibition Unfinished Business: Perspectives on Art and Feminism. The exhibition covered artworks in a variety of mediums. I found Sarah Goffman's piece entitled "I am with you" particularly powerful. The digital artworks were also really good. The gallery itself is...More

This is must visit for lovers of challenging visual art. This small gallery always presents challenging & creative displays. Enjoyed retrospective of works by Kader Attia which raises questions about war & suffering. Entry is free & barista to serve nice coffee.

Given its name, I expected more from this venue. A huge modern and interesting building, which is worth a look in itself, but then the exhibition spaces didn't deliver. I'll go anywhere to check out a modern art or sculpture exhibition and I've seen better...More

Recognised as one of the world's most iconic buildings, gravitated to the building to see this appeal - described as "the poetry of the red centre of Australia", it is a departure from the focus on green space. It is certainly interesting but the artwork...More
