We loved it! Plenty to see there and very educational for all ages. Will certainly go there at least once a year.

Our visit to the Melbourne Aquarium was a wonderful experience and we really enjoyed the walking path that took us through each of the themed zones. Our favourite zones were the underwater tunnels were we got up close and personal with sharks, turtles and stingrays, the Crocodile's Lair where we were taken aback by the huge crocodile and of course... The overall experience was amazing. The friendly staff were informative, helpful and ensured your safety at all times. It was a 40 min crash course mini beginner scuba Dive training. They went through all the do's and don'ts of your experience. Must be fit to be able to carry a 35 kg tank and gear. I enjoyed the overall scuba... More

We loved the penguins and the story behind the enormous crocodile but overall didn't feel the aquarium lived up to the hype. It is a great place for little children but lacked the special something for those in their teens.

The Melbourne aquarium is small and compact but because it is right in the city/CBD, it is a nice attraction to visit with young children if you are in the area. It is within the free tram zone which makes getting there easy. It will probably take at most 2 hours and the highlight is definitely the penguin enclosure. Good... More

Overall this is never going to be a cheap day out for a family of 6 Cheapest way get membership and you can then go several times at your own leisure Also membership saved us a fortune when we went to Sydney Aquarium itself is great - kids love it and seal show a big family favourite

They have a pretty vast variety of fish to view here however it can get very crowded at times and hard to get a good look without pushing through people. It was still a fun experience to see all the big fish and sharks swimming over your head and seeing the people in the tanks with the shark. Have been... More

I absolutely love visiting Aquariums, especially the one in Melbourne. I have constantly been here but the last time I came I went Diving with the sharks and fish.... I love to go diving, and being able to dive in there, where you are surrounded by some of the most incredible animals was amazing. A must see/do when you come... More

After visting the Sealife style establishment in Singapore and Sydney, I decided to give this one a try. Spent aproximately $48 for two pax. You walk in to a shot trail of IKEA style pathway of rooms made to look like a jungle habitat but it really doesnt look like much of an effort here. You then cross over and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
