The Melbourne Museum is a pretty typical modern museum with lots of open space and some kid firendly areas. The exhibits on evolution were a mixed bag -- some really exceptional displays and explanations mixed in with lots of stuffed animals. But the reason to...More

They have quite a lot of exhibits. It well run and worth a visit even if you don't have children. There was an exhibit from ancient Turkey when I last visited which I found fascinating.

Impressive city museum with an eclectic mix of exhibits: Melbourne history, fashion, evolution and natural history, WWI, aboriginal culture, pasifika, and the mind. The feature exhibition was the Vikings, which was small, but well put together.
