While in Melbourne, we made it our goal to visit a few great architectural buildings. One such structure is St. Patrick's, right in the heart of the city. Venturing inside, we asked the clerk if we could take a few photos of the interior sanctuary. After paying the small fee of only $ 5.00 AUD, we took some photos of... More

Grand old building memorializing central characters in Melbourne's Catholic history. Interesting insights into past times.

You catch the free city tour tram and alight at Spring/Albert streets.Just short walk [1 block ] and you are there. Also close [1 block] is the Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre.A tour of the Cathedral is well worth the effort and you can see very good use of sandstone in the building.

This is a beautiful old building with lovely grounds and stained glass windows. If you are into architecture it's well worth a look around. Real contrast to the many modern high rises that have sprung up round the area.

We went hoping to catch a glimpse of the cathedral and learn about its history. Unfortunately that happens from Monday to Saturday. This is a functioning church. We met a wonderful volunteer who showed us a few things and loved the conversation. Grab a book that gives you insight into St Paul's. it's only £4.50. We came back and sat... More

We had a wander around this church and it is beautiful. Well worth a visit and reminded us of churches back in England.

I couldn't help but be drawn into the gates of this cathedral. The gardens are enchanting. The architecture and stonework amazing. It makes me wonder if Australia today, has trades people who can hand craft such amazing work. The ceiling inside the cathedral was incredible with the arched timber work & the stained glass windows were awesome. A must to... More
