St Patrick’s Cathedral was really near. You should visit St Patrick’s Cathedral. Although the cathedral would not be opened for tourism to see the inside but the outside of this cathedral was so beautiful that I must hold my breath. St Patrick’s Cathedral was completed...More

Gothic architecture is my favourite kind. But the history and workmanship that has gone into this gorgeous building is definitely worth the visit. Even if you are not religious it is definitely worth the visit

Worth the walk to visit this large cathedral set slightly out of the centre of the city. A very gothic looking building.

This impressive building is more so once you step inside and also explore the surrounding area. With its many little chapels, a beautiful organ and lovely stained glass, it is also a great place for quiet reflection.

Michelle K. I did not hear any bells midweek during my visit, but other reviewers indicate they are rung to call parishioners to Mass, and for special occasions (weddings). P.S. do not miss Cook's Cottage... More

Lee, As a visitor and not a Melbourne-ite I think you would be best to use Public Transport or leave vehicle at Hotel.
