If your ever down under one of the must do's is taking yourself to a Aussie Rules game. Fast from the getgo. The atmosphere electric. And what better place to try Aussie beer and a meat pie.

My team were awful, but it's a good stadium to visit. Easy access on the tram ( free in city ) or train to Southern Cross on Spencer street

Excellent game, shame the Hawks didn't win though :( Superb atmosphere with all the fans mingled together. This is a 'must do' when in Melbourne, even if you don't support any teams.

Aussie Rules football (footie) at the MCG – marvellous fun, great experience, and extremely cheap (four tickets for less than £60). Recommended. 9/10.

No visit to Melbourne in Winter is complete without watching a game of AFL, preferably at the MCG, and preferably a game involving some of the league's heavyweight teams such as Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong or Richmond. Don't understand the rules? Doesn't matter. Just savour the...More
