Escape Room Melbourne is Melbourne's original live room escape game!...

Escape Room Melbourne is Melbourne's original live room escape game! Working in a team of 2-6 people, you have 70 minutes to unravel the mystery of a hidden room, working together to solve a variety of quirky and inventive puzzles to escape.

We have three rooms available - Melbourne's original Escape Room, Mine Escape , and Kellar's Magic Emporium. We can't give away too many secrets here, but to get an idea of what to expect you can check out our website for reviews and articles by Broadsheet, Timeout, The Age, and others, as well as features by SBS, Channel 10, ABC radio, and Fox FM (warning: may contain some spoilers!)

Bookings are essential and can be made through our website. Please note we are a small independent business that is not affiliated with any of the Escape Room franchises operating in Melbourne, however we are happy to try and accommodate corporate bookings and larger groups where we can.

Please feel free to contact us via email if you have any questions about availability, bookings, or the rooms themselves.

A really fun, novel challenge. Certainly different from other escape rooms we've done (because it began outside) but in a good way. Loved the personal touch of some interesting characters, and being in the outdoors. We were chuffed to solve the puzzle within the time limit and to meet the designer at the end. We definitely recommend this escape challenge.

Went as a group of 4 for the Magic room, this is filled with the most creative and mind boggling puzzles, which took us 40mins to complete! Which is a shame because we had planned for the full allowed 70mins. Would definitely recommend to a friend, just allow for finishing early

This was a birthday gift for my husband, who I am sure thought it was a little strange at first. We did the Flemington Escape Room and it was our first Escape room experience. We loved the unusual location and Sam was very helpful. The experience itself was extremely fun. We only resorted to the walkie-talkie assistance once and then... More

We did Mine Escape last August, and returned this year to do the Magic Emporium. We felt very pleased with ourselves when we managed to escape without even one clue..... I think it is easier than Mine Escape, but even so it had us stumped a couple of times. The trick is to not to get flustered and have a... More

We did the magician room and there were six of us. You would not want to do it with more than that as the room was not huge. However, it was great fun and you did have to use the old brain! I would definitely recommend it for family, friends or both. It is well run and the staff are... More

We visited this Escape Room in South Melbourne and did Kellar's Magic Emporium. The main issue we had was that our walkie talkie (used to get clues) didn't work. At one point, some of the group members got scared and wanted to leave, but we couldn't use the walkie talkie to communicate this and so they stayed with us... until... More

Wow!!! This is absolutely the best puzzle game I have ever played in a long while. The hardest bit was to choose which game you would like to be part of. They have seven puzzle games to select from but since it was during school holidays, the choosing was made easier for us because there was only one available for... More

To start with I thought how good is this going to be. Moments after we entered the room things really started to get exciting. We used up all the time up and took all of our combined brains which wasn't much lol All up an awesome team building exercise. Highly recommend this for a bit of fun or the work... More

I was given a voucher for the Escape room in South Yarra. I had never heard of the attraction but was eager to give it a try. Booking was easy - must be done online and not over the phone. Finding the venue was easy. It looks like an industrial warehouse with a small sign out the front on the... More

We had an enjoyable time this morning escaping from Kellar's Magic Emporium. My son (20) enjoys these types of game on computers and other devices so it was fun to do as a family for his birthday. Four (me, my husband and 2 sons) was a good number to solve the puzzles (more would have been a bit crowded). The... More

Staying in South Melbourne

Neighbourhood Profile
South Melbourne
South Melbourne hosts the city’s oldest continuous market, founded in 1867. Rows of neatly arranged fruit, vegetables and flowers splash yellows, greens and reds along the entire perimeter, where the whole neighbourhood gathers for Saturday feasts. Inside the hall, shoppers hover over the mouth-watering displays of delicatessens and specialty food shops. Further in, a bazaar full of giftware, clothing, and kitchen utensils completes the scene. Take a break to walk the wide and shady streets and stroll along the Victorian-era heritage terrace houses. But return to the market in time for some paella, simmering in three large frypans on the footpath and served straight onto your plate.
