The Astor is the wrong side of town for us to visit often, but where there is something special on ( and the Astor works to find those special events) then it is well worth the trip. There is a special ambiance in the place,...More

We visited the Astor on Christmas Eve to watch "Its a Wonderful Life". It was a brilliant start to Christmas in a beautiful old theatre!

Although we have to travel just under two hours to get there my husband and I often frequent the Astor Theatre to watch movies. They show a great selection of old and new stuff. While this theatre doesn't have all the bells and whistles of...More

Beautiful theatre which is a rare gem to be able to watch movies in. Parking can be a bit tricky but it's worth the inconvenience.

Forget the bogan vibe of regular cinema venues. This place is incredible. Love the resident cat who flanks around the place. Film choices sit between quirky and classic. Seating options both upstairs and on ground level are welcome. Stunning retro decor. Bar service. Best value...More

What can I say that has not already been covered by other comments? This is an absolute treat to visit if you love cinemas and films of yesteryear. Have always enjoyed going there when I still lived in Melbourne, and even more so on the...More

No better place to watch a movie. Yippee Ki-ay Mother******! (As Bruce Willis AKA John McClane might say in any of his Die Hard films!)

This place is straight out of the archives. Retro is everywhere and I think that is what it survives on. I found the sound quality to be a little average but they are not known for their high tech presentations. There tends to be a...More

Hi Anne The calendar for The Astor is not prepared quite that far ahead. Sadly it also appears the theatre will be closing some time this year, so check their website closer to the time.
