The Astor is one of the last single screen movie palaces left in the world, showing movies continuously since being built in 1936, and transporting you to a time when going to the movies was an event.

The astor shows all the oldies and has the old type chairs, very arty and always draws a crowd. Parking is a bit of a nightmare. Most l think would go in by public transport.

I love going to the Astor - great classic movies and the heritage is awesome - it cannot change. The only cinema I know that does intermission.

Even though the seats are not as comfortable as the modern cinemas, it has an amazing & majestic atmosphere. It has a very a very large screen & shows a great variety of movies. It is really worth supporting.

Hi Anne The calendar for The Astor is not prepared quite that far ahead. Sadly it also appears the theatre will be closing some time this year, so check their website closer to the time.
