It's a very nice place, beachfront, with lots of old school and new "merry go rouds". Very good with children. Price for "no limit rides" is correct and you can apreciate not to wait too long before enjoying.

Luna Park is fairly small. Having visited a few times, I was disappointed that therewere no roller coasters open and one of the other major thrill rides (the Power Surge) was closed for most of the day. Overall though, Luna Park isn't too expensive and will keep younger visitors well entertained. Thrill seekers may be less pleased withthe rides offered.... More

I found Luna Park smaller than I expected, not too over priced, the wait for rides was not too bad although I did go on a Thursday. As a tourist it was something I wanted to see, not sorry I did.

My wife and I visited the park with my 13 year old son and I was way more excited than my son. The rides are so vintage unlike the new theme parks that are usually available. These rides are so old and must have been expensive to maintain or restore but still whoever the owner is; I'm am sure he... More

After spending the day at St Kilda, we went to Luna park. Would of liked to be there when lit up at night, but the sun doesn't go down till 9pm, so that can't be helped. Thought there might of been more rides, but what they did have was great.

Its a small amusement park which is why I gave it an average rating. But it is still a very good place to spend an afternoon with the kids and let them enjoy the various rides and the side shows. There are some good rides as well traditional, scary and some modern stomach churning stuff. In some ways its a... More

Great little theme park in perfect location for the beach and restaurants too. Smallish selection of rides but enough for the children to enjoy. Reasonable prices too

Great day out. It's not too big that it takes you too long to walk from one end of the park to the other. The food is not overpriced, which was a nice surprise. It was also served hit, fresh, efficiently and from friendly staff. The scenic railway (104years old) is still going well, abit bumpy & noisy but well!... More

Melbourne's Luna Park may have seen better days, but try telling that to the thousands of children, teenagers and adults who flock to this fun park throughout the year. Entry is free, but of course the rides and activities are not. I visited on a Monday afternoon, and the place was buzzing with activity, and excitement. The rides and attractions... More

Luna Park Melbourne would be a fun day out but is quite expensive for what its worth. It was too expensive to go on 1 ride and wasn't worth buying a daily pass. We are visiting from Sydney and we thought we would visit Melbournes Luna Park but I cant say it is better.

Staying in St. Kilda

Neighbourhood Profile
St. Kilda
St. Kilda is an iconic beachside suburb and one of the most culturally and economically diverse of Melbourne’s neighbourhoods. It is a traditional haven for musicians, artists and writers, drawn to the European ambience and fresh ocean breezes. At night, it can have an edgier side, but by day, it features a relaxed vibe – the market stalls, boutiques and outdoor bars display St. Kilda’s easygoing attitude. Ocean winds blow from Port Phillip Bay and waves lap onto its long and mostly deserted beaches. Rides whir at the world’s oldest operational Luna Park. On a lazy weekend morning, bikers cruise along Acland Street, showing off their motorcycles. But the late morning crowds are too busy at brunch to notice. St. Kilda is a perfect place to relax after a night out with friends.
