You can't visit Melbourne (being s rock n roll fan) without visiting here at least one night. The edge is raw and bands are great. It's located down a graffiti covered ally off Flinders Lane which adds to the experience. Must do

Decided to drop in to check out the 'famous' Cherry Bar while in town for the Download music festival. In summary, I wouldn't have waited over 1hr to get in & paid $10- cover charge if I knew that the customer service was near non-existent....More

This place reminded me of some of the grotty night clubs I used to go to in the 70's (yes I'm that old) but it's just right for what it does. It's grungy, dark, a little sweaty and sticky (in more ways than one) but...More

I've been coming to Cherry regularly on and off for the last 10 years and remains my one constant whenever I head back home. Music and bands are always on point, the longtimers are always helpful, and a good night is one rarely remembered.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the

throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air
