The only jazz club open on a Monday night in Melbourne and what a find. Big band really means big band ! We only stayed a short while but really enjoyed the show and atmosphere. It was just like the jazz club we visited in...More

I've been a devotee of this great (but little) live jazz venue in inner city Melbourne for many years now and a recent trip had me dropping in mid-week for some live jazz presented by combo leader and horn player John Hoffman and very impressive...More

Great venue, but can get full, so get in early. Wide variety of gigs, very reasonably priced - entry, drinks and eats. Must come for the music though, not to chat during the set!

"Best Jazz Venue in Melbourne" only if you like standing between the bar and against the wall of the bathroom entry surrounded by pretentious jazz connoisseurs. An hour after the show started the lady at the door did not stop more patrons entering the venue...More

Nice wee venue and a fantastic performance on the stage, marred only by a few folks in the crowd being annoyed at our group having a good time and being louder than whisper levels.

Hard to find tucked down a side street and with a door that doesn't open until it's time, this small jazz club attracts some well known names and some talented emerging artists. If you really want to get in make sure you book.

Laid back. Unpretentious Reasonably priced. Local talent sugar foot ramblers for $10. Only knock is that they finished at 11. We should have gotten there earliet

city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

Also, make sure you get in the CORRECT queue. There are two rooms. BL itself and the Lab just adjacent. You get into BL via the big iron gate. You get into the Jazz Lab via a small door just prior off the street. I have... More
