Got shut down from our roadside drinks and moved into a grubby garden bar to accomodate smokers. Really in this century!! If you want people to keep drinking on a Sunday afternoon clean up your back area and be more accomodating. There is a reason...More
This place was recommended by friends so we rolled up at 8ish.
Friendly attentive service with intimate dining areas if required.
Two fillet steak meals and one carbonara. Excellent. A lovely Pinot Noir to accompany.
It's on our list.
We have been going to Jimmy Watson's for years and have always enjoyed it. The amount of food on the main course plate during the last three visits has reduced considerably compared to previous visits. Expect to leave hungry if you just order a main...More
Went for a Christmas catch up lunch with adult children and partners Host could not have been helpful. All round we all enjoyed our food. Wait staff friendly and attentive. I could not fault we are already planning a return visit.
This is an excellent spot for dinner when you want a break from fine dining and have little appetite for the tired Lygon St restaurants. The food menu changes offering a good range of well executed meals. There is also more wines on offer by...More

We can't fault our experience. From the minute we walked in and were greeted warmly, given the table in the window and provided with water & a wine list. The meals were exceptional and the wine list overwhelmingly good. This is an old favourite at...More
We celebrated my brothers birthday and spent afternoon in the garden. Food was delicious and wine top of the world! Mr Watson junior is attentive and warm.. a unique menu and lovely sweets to top it off! Thank you for a wonderful lunch
Dr Rod sits at his usual table with friends and a bottle of premium shiraz under the William Dargie portrait of Jimmy Watson (replaced by a copy after some unfortunate business), while suits and jackets stand at the bar after a day's work and others...More
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way
they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.
