Monkey Mia is one of Western Australia's icon tourism experiences attracting around 100,000 visitors a year. Monkey Mia is one of the few locations in Australia to see wild dolphins, get close to them and have an opportunity to feed one. In addition, visitors can learn a lot about these endearing creatures at the Monkey Mia Visitor Centre, which provides information about the dolphins and other features of the surrounding Shark Bay Marine Park in the interpretation display or movie playing in the air-conditioned theatrette. Visitors are also able to buy unique gifts and souvenirs or book a boat charter in the Shark Bay Marine Park, enabling them to see not only dolphins but also dugongs, manta rays, turtles and other marine species. Similarly, local indigenous guides offer cultural tours of the reserve. Visitors can also walk the Wulyibidi Yaninyina walk trail to further explore the area.

This is a neat idea and it is obviously popular as heaps of people attend. But really in todays tourism market it is pretty much a none event the way it is presented. 4 Dolphins turned up. That's how popular it is with them. And...More

We didn't stay at the resort, but just visited in the morning for the dolphin feed. It was very informative and the kids loved it. My daughter was lucky enough to get to picked to feed Puck, wonderful memories. Worth a trip for sure.

A lovely relaxing day spent here, perfect place for a break from the driving on the way up to Exmouth. Lovely resort and the dolphin experience is amazing. Renovations and upgrades are a bit of a problem though and price should have been dropped whilst...More

Found it to be lacking though, the dolphin experience is great the restaurant and use of the facilities is great, however for me it lacked a little oomph, gift shop was all mass marketing knock offs, a few local things, but so much opportunity for...More

We went for a walk along the beach and by chance, came across Henk and Kinka, who run the Sharkbay Camel Safaris. At first we thought $45 p/p was too much, but then we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed....More

Went to Monkey Mia today as a group of 10 of us were staying at Denham for a week. The plan was to go there for a meal and a few beers at the pub, we were not interested in doing the whole "Dolphin Thing"...More

Apart from the town of Denham itself we began to feel that this area was a let down. The Dolphin feeding was really boring (the ranger had no character at all). It started late, we eventually made our way to the water to just watch...More

My daughter had been excitedly looking forward to coming here for about 6 months, and the experience did not disappoint. We arrived early in the morning before the first dolphin feeding and remained until well after the 3rd feeding. The dolphin sightings and feedings are...More
