If you are expecting an old wharf with lots of history, you'll be disappointed. It is possible to walk part of the way out.

The red dirt meets the whitish sand and then the turquoise shades of the Indian Ocean. There are short walks, a boat ramp and a cafe along with off-street parking. It is interesting to watch the ships being loaded at the wharf.

We visited the Wharf on our recent visit to Broome and were most disappointed that we could not access the entire area as we could on previous occasions apparently due to possible terrorist activities (or so we were informed). You can still access part of...More

This long long jetty gives a clearer idea of the huge tidal ranges that Broome experiences. Passengers arriving or leaving on tourist boats need to be transported out along the long jetty by bus. It’s much too far to walk! At low tide the jetty...More

We went for a drive out there but unfortunately you can only walk a little way and not really get on to the pier. It is very well landscaped and a take-away and sit down restaurant.

We managed to fish from the jetty a couple of times during our week in Broome - mostly very early morning to catch the high tide and escape the hot sun. Plenty of fish around and hooked one particularly large one that escaped due to...More

We had a quick look around the Wharf and Jetty area. There were road trains and trucks and all sorts of vehicles moving around delivering, picking up and moving things. The setting is quite picturesque and the energy feels quite exciting. Kids who enjoy machinery...More
