We were very taken with the history of Broome and the Mother of Pearl industry there. The museum was very good and gave us an introduction to Broome and told us a lot more about the area that we had not previously known about.

we didn't get to the pearl farm however it didn't matter as there was more than enough information at the museum to explain all about the pearling industry. I didn't know until I visited the museum that Broome had been attacked in the war so that was a bit of an eye opener. The history was a bit confronting in... More

Went based on a recommendation from our hotel and fir a relatively small museum really enjoyed ourselves. Manned by great old very helpful volunteers they have on show an an amazing display of the great diversity of Broomes history from pearl diving to the Japanese bombing to amazing memorabilia from over the last 150 years .Very worthwhile .

The two Bills eorking on the day were fantastic. Full of information about Broome and the pearling industry. Plenty of displays and interesting things to see. Caught the town bus from Kimberly Sands right to the front door. If you are interested in the history of Broome and the pearling industry this is a must see😎

We loved our visit here and spent way longer than we expected as everything proved very interesting. Lots of exhibits of all facets of life and living in the Broome area over many years.

It was AUD$6 per adult and we were there about an hour reading through the various displays. I found it very interesting learning about the start of the Australian pearl industry, the hardships for Indigenous Australians, Broome during the 2nd World War and the bombing of Broome and the frontier nature and lives of the settlers. Don't forget the garden... More

Typical local historical society museum with everything that really matters. Really drives home how utterly multi-cultural Broome has been since the 1880s.

This place is has a wealth of information about Broome's history. As I love pearls it was great to read about the divers and their lives, about what a diverse culture Broome has always had. I think the smaller country museums keep their own unique area's history alive and pass on their knowledge to both overseas and Australian tourists it... More

I really enjoyed visiting this museum as I learnt about the history of Broome. I went there on the day after I had been on the afternoon tour of Broome so it brought everything together for me.
