The main attraction is the museum's extensive collection of Aboriginal artifacts, but yes, there's a dinosaur gallery for the kids, too. *The Perth site will temporarily close from June 2016 to re-open in 2020.

Just so people know, the Museum (which is excellent by international standards, a natural and social history museum in the heart of Perth) is closed for a major re-building project. It is expected too re-open with world-class exhibits in 2020, I gather.

See the Corsini Exhibition before it leaves town, absolutely fantastic. An impressive collection worthy of a fine European gallery.

Went there during November and it was one of the best museum experiences ever, when compared to other well known museums around the world, such as the Louvre. It is a wonderful place to get to know Western Australia better! It is a must-see

Was planning on spending a day here as it used to be very nice when we last visited it 8 years ago. Unfortunately it seems to be closed until 2020? Looking forward to re-opening.

Very disappointing that the state museum in Perth is closed. for substantial change - due to reopen in 2020. Some of its exhibits are available in cities elsewhere such as Albany which might be relevant if touring widely.

Was planning on spending many hours roaming the museum but when we arrived, it was closed for renovations. Surely not all was being renovated at the same time, very disappointed.
