The 4 free CAT bus routes in Perth are the best! The buses are Ok, but the trains always have interruptions and timing issues especially when an event is on, like the football. Room for improvement. Other big cities cope, Perth does not.

Taxis are so expensive in Perth City. Uber is also an option but I always like to use the public Transperth system if I can. It includes train lines , buses, free city Cat services in Perth and Fremantle plus ferries crossing the Swan River...More

A great, cheep way for a river cruise to cross the river by means of the ferry. Half hour round trip or step off to visit the Perth Zoo & ferry back for a great day out.

The free CAT bus service in Perth and Fremantle is great. You can travel around both cities and outskirts for free. Perth has four routes and Fremantle has two. You can hop on at certain venues and get back on again to travel further. A...More

Clean and efficient trains and ferry (to South Perth). Pleasant staff and good value, particularly notable was the Free Transport Zone which encompasses the centre of the CBD.

Loved the CAT buses, and the Free Transit Zone - get yourself as smart card if you are there for a while, though - is much more convenient!

Efficient, clean, friendly drivers etc etc. For a tourist a model of how to run busses although no doubt regular commuters may disagree! Free around certain areas of the city.

$2.20 is the cash fare but you can buy other options. Prices depend on the number of zones you travel through. Public transport is free in the CBD
