When we visited Auckland last year, we tried the sailing experience billed as America's Cup. The vessel used in the trip has been included in some historical trials for the Cup, hence the name. And it does not disappoint. It is not inexpensive, actually, for...More

This was a great experience - weather perfect, great wind, fun crew and Auckland as the backdrop. Never felt unsafe and they let you participate with turning a wench or driving the boat. It’s pricey but so worth it.

We had a fantastic day sailing owing partly to perfect wind, but more importantly to a fine crew and yacht. You do get to work as a grinder and can take the helm. I took a turn sailing upwind - the helm is very responsive,...More

Took the opportunity to go sailing with the Kiwis! The America's Cup boats are large enough to hold about 20 without being over crowded. The speed is amazing and you can be part of the crew or just enjoy the ride. It was an awesome...More

It's a rare treat to sail on an actual America's Cup boat. These babies are built for speed. We would have loved to to the match race between two boats but it's only available a few times per week. So, instead we opted for the...More

These yachts are a completely different type experience from dinghies... Best really ask Explore about time of day. It can vary depending on the time of year. I would go for the race experience...gives the experience an edge.
