Auckland Whale & Dolphin Safari make it easy to experience the astonishingly abundant wildlife of the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. Our 4.5 hour marine eco-safari offers guaranteed Whale and Dolphin viewing year-round, departing direct from the Viaduct Harbour in down-town Auckland.

But we offer so much more than just Whale and Dolphin watching. Went out on the trip, saw quite a few dolphins but no whales. When we got back, we were all offered another free trip as they said our experience was not like the one they wish to provide. Yet I had such a great day out, The staff are really engaging and very knowledgeable. The second trip out , we... More

We were unlucky, and only saw two animals a bern whale and a common dolphin. However, the whale was pretty spectacular. I recommend you take binoculars, as there are beaches on islands you travel by that look like they may have animals on them. Be wary if you suffer seasickness as the boat travels pretty far out into the ocean,... More

We had bought tickets to this safari in 2014 but unfortunately didn't see any marine life. Used the lifetime voucher this year.. and it didn't disappoint! So many dolphins and best of all, we saw a Mama dolphin with her baby (so cute!). Also saw a Bryde's Whale very close to the boat!

Not only a Bryde's whale (significantly endangered), but lots of dolphins and little blue penguins too! Captain Andy was very informative. The cruise was full (100), but there as plenty of room for everyone to see.

We spent a very pleasant afternoon at sea with over 100 others on the whale and dolphin watch. The crew were uniformly helpful, knowledgable and humorous. The difficulties of finding the animals were explained so passengers were patient and understanding but we enoyed 2-3 good sessions close up to a whale and tens of dolphins. The boat has plenty of... This trip exceeded both our hopes, expectations and dreams. We loved the environmental information which was delivered with such clarity and humour that it was both entertaining and fun and never once felt dry or boring. Laughter as well as learning is a great combo'. And then came the dolphins; wow and wow again, mums and calves playing round the... More
