A ferry and bus tour is a good way to view a new location, and check what is of interest. The wineries and stops are of interest, a reasonable lunch is provided and there are a number of opportunities to taste and purchase the offerings on the way. This is a popular tour with locals and tourists alike

Hopping On and off the bus at different wineries and scenic locations was fantastic. Wish we had more hours in the day to do the beaches as well as the wine tasting but ran out of time to even do justice to all there was to do. A must for Aukland visitors since it is an easy ferry trip with... More

Double decker busses each with a host to give an overview of the small communities, shops, restaurants and wineries. Busses run every 30 minutes and are on schedule.

This was a fantastic day and well worth the money. I think we were very lucky with our Fullers Guide though, who was really well organized and thoughtful. She knew ahead of time any wineries that were closed and told us. She walked around the bus and individually asked each person what they were doing and then gave personal recommendations.... More

Quick ferry over and met by tour guide. Brand new double decker with very comfy seats. Great day doing a little of everything. Beach, hike, bush walk, wine tasting and stunning views. Could have done with a better map/more info on it. Tells you all the vineyards but not much else. The staff are very informative and helpful but nice... More

We had one day to explore and wanted to see it all. This ferry/explorer tour combo allowed that to happen perfectly. The bus stop is right at the ferry pier and made each pick up every 30 minutes until 7:15pm. We got to see Oneroa beach, Onetangi beach, have a nice lunch, see Cable Bay winery (a must) and still... We spent most of the day riding the explorer hop on hop off bus and found it a great way to discover the island. We stopped at quite a few places for 30 minutes then caught the next bus that came along. We had lunch at one place so didn't get another bus for 90 minutes. The staff on the... More

Visiting Waiheke island is a must if you are in Auckland. And a tour is recommended & I would suggest Fullers. We were totally pleased with Fullers and our lovely guide Evelyn. The tour was well organised, it was fun & we had a great day. We visited three wineries & an olive farm. The day was sunny but ended... More

As a regularly ferry user, I have been very disappointed by the ferry service since they went to their summer timetable. Ferries frequently do not arrive until they are scheduled to depart (i.e. today on the 5pm ferry, the ferry arrived at 5.02 and then had a few hundred people to board). Ground Staff do try their best but the... More

A group of us spent a wonderful day exploring Waiheke Island by way of the Waiheke Explorer Hop on Hop Off Bus, a well organized and structured bus service that goes around the island making 15 stops in a circular route in 30 minute intervals. Judith, one of the few hosts today, welcomed and showered us and the rest of... More
