Interesting building. Well located. Interesting collections. Loved the contemporary New Zealand artists rooms. Beautiful park. Lovely afternoon. Free.

Well presented art gallery with a great collection of New Zealand art from colonial times to the present. A pleasant place to spend a few hours.

Far sighted preservation of a historic building housing a broad selection of NZ and collected overseas art. Great memorabilia and art objects available for sale as well for keepsakes or collection.

Worth and hour or two of your time at a minimum, and the price is right (free, but donation requested). There was a nice temporary exhibit we went through as well (which did cost extra). Convenient location next to Albert Park (also worth a walk-through.

We went on a day when it was free admission for all. Nice blend of sculpture and paintings, with a section for children. Good place for a half-day tour.
