Today at the zoo, it was a short drive from our accommodation. It was a fun filled day with a large variety of different animals in their natural habitat with the favourites being loins, tiger, and the spider monkeys. A number of areas were under...More

Well kept, well cared for Nature Park.... animals kept in pristine settings as close to their natural habitat. Informed and gracious staff willing to answer any and all questions! Our 2 year old did not want to leave..... until the lion roared at her!!! That...More

My friend and I visited the zoo when travelling on the Hop On Hop Off bus and found the Tigers and Lions all asleep. The sign posting made it difficult to find things. The elephants were moved to the back of their area just after...More

We visited Auckland Zoo on Sunday and had a fantastic, relaxing day wandering through the park like grounds and watching the animals. The enclosures are well maintained and modern, giving plenty of room and entertainment for the animals. We found the Zoo volunteers particularly helpful,...More

Took my wife to go and see for her first time. Pretty much everything was under construction. The worst thing is the setup and map, seems rather confusing if its your first time there.

We have seen this zoo developing over many years and visited many times before, especially during the childhood of our children. A recent visit surprised us as the zoo has managed to create a very animal friendly environment to provide a great experience to visitors.

Lots of variety of animals. As I'm from Australia I really wanted to see Kiwi and unfortunately was unable unless I wanted to pay for the guided visit; which was out of my price range. The rest of the zoo was great. Enjoyed the day...More

This is one impressive zoo. Lots to see and learn. The information boards aren't walls of text which can be taxing to read when you have been walking for a few hours. Lots of animals. A great experience.
