This is a good museum but, with a few exceptions, hasnt quite kept up with the interactivity and technology of other museums. As none Auckland residents have to pay we opted for the basic at NZ$25 per person. You have to have paid a higher tariff for the Maori experience. Cafe is very good though.

Well laid out; in formative; children friendly; gives a great insight into the history, origin and background cultures that make up the Maori nation. Lots of hands on materials.

This was a very interesting and educational way to spend a couple of hours and learn about the history of such an important event. As well as giving the overall history of WW1 they also gave information on how NZ contributed to the war

Went there with my niece. Its a beautiful old building in a central location. It has really interesting exhibits, both about local Maori history but also worldwide natural history which is the more interesting in my opinion, but something for everyone. Its free entry (with donation if you prefer) and the staff are really friendly.

Went to public seminar on top floor. Great views over the city. We did not get into exhibits this time but have enjoyed them before. Great place to get to know NZ nature, Maori and Pacific culture; especially in bad weather.

Cast for international visitors was $25 per adult. Fantastic cultural experience. Great for families with children. A range of cultural and non-cultural displays. Staff were friendly and helpful. Café had a great range of food items. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This museum is unique in that it shows the history of the native Maoris and also has exhibits that show worldwide influence on furniture and fashion. Many varied exhibits, something for everyone.

A good place to learn about New Zealand's History and the Maori's Culture. They also have artefacts from all over the world. The two most exciting places for me are the Volcano and Dinosaur Sections. It was also good to see and know about Rajah, the 13 years old elephant. There are heaps of other amazing things to learn about... More

Museum is in a beautiful setting, sitting above the city. Enjoy the park either before or after. Excellent Maori exhibits and moving War Memorial materials. The special exhibits were also good. Worth the price of admission!
