Ponsonby is the place to get social, the place to be seen, the place to be hip even when you are not. It is a place to be seen and one of favorite suburb of Auckland. Ponsonby's nightlife scene in general is vibrant.

We were meeting friends for Brunch and walked thru Ponsonby to the venue. Some great little shops, restaurants and bars. Just outside the main downtown area of the city.

Spent an afternoon walking around Ponsonby. Very pleasant and had a nice lunch in one of many cafes in the area. Nice range of shops and great views from high up overlong city centre.

Try Dizengof in Ponsonby road (think that is correct spelling). Very good selection, be prepared for it to be busy but have a look upstairs as it often has available seating. Delicious food, reasonable prices.
