Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We needed to utilise The Luggage Hotel for the day, which is right at the Viaduct, and we were really looking forward to spending time down at the Viaduct. Walking around, there is a lot, and I mean, a lot of construction work going on there, so it's pretty noisy, but the bars and restaurants on the water are still open. I agree with a previous reviewer that despite all the construction works, that are a necessity in life, the harbour itself is really cramped, and the restaurants and bars are all really close together. We went back to have a drink at a couple of places later in the day and it was nice looking out over the old timber sailing boats, but again, so cramped.

We regularly stay in Auckland and always do a lot of walking around Viaduct Harbour. Pleasant place to walk. There are lots of restaurants to choose from if you are looking for a meal, but some are quite expensive. This time we walked down a bit further into the Wynyard Quarter and ate in the Auckland Fish Market down there.
At the moment, with all the road works it is a bit of a hazard to get from Britomart to Viaduct Harbour!

Viaduct Harbour is a amazing place to visit whether it is day or night. Night has its own magical view. Facing city and you see the Sky Tower which looks awesome in photos at the background with boats/sea/ buildings and of course the Sky Tower with its colors.

It is amazing that Auckland is surrounded by water but hasn’t really made the best use of the opportunity this provides. The Viaduct precinct is a perfect example of this. The idea is great and some of the restaurants have made best use of the space they have but it still feels cramped rather than open as Harbour locales should. Hopefully the port will move and this will become more welcoming and maybe the America’s Cup Ocean Race will help with finds pouring in.

Viaduct Harbour is the place to go if you are looking for wonderful restaurants and bars. On Friday and Saturday nights the place is abuzz with music and people of all ages having fun. The harbour is beautiful be it in the daytime or in the evening. Auckland / Viaduct are currently undergoing roadworks in preparation for the America’s cup racing, with many barriers blocking the entrances, however, it is so well organised ,with safety in mind , that we didn’t find this to be a detriment. The road workers are friendly and helpful when asked for assistance or directions.

Auckland Viaduct Harbour is a facinating place to have a good wander about, Grat bars and restaurants. Sights to behold if you are interested in BIG boats. If the "COMO" is tied up have a look! Wow!! The museum is worth a visit and you must take a pic under the hull of the Americas cup yacht
GOOD GEORGE is a worthwhile stop for a cocktail of something more substantial. Just take in the scenery and watch the people. Don't get caught on the top of the harbour bridge when it is on the way up!!
Great sailing trips out of the harbour

This is a lovely place to head to for wasting away a few hours either watching the boats and people and having some great food or drinks. Lots of very good restaurants around the area and a good place to be close to when choosing a hotel. Well worth a visit

The harbour is well designed and allows you to walk all around and see some fantastic boats from all angles. The area is surrounded by restaurants and bars and comes alive in the evening. A great place to just sit and dream about sailing away...

Pleasant walk around on a winters evening. Lots of restaurants and bars - some offering happy hour and overlooking boats and yachts moored in the harbour. Could be busy on a sunny weekend.

Viaduct Harbour is at the Auckland waterfront. We spent some time there, it was one of the places that we wanted to explore. It was a vibrant place; there were upscale apartments and restaurants with the Sky Tower as the backdrop. All kinds of motorised pleasure boats and yachts were docked there. This is a popular place with locals and foreign visitors. Happy Travelling!
