Took the Haiheke Ferry and went on the wine tour which was booked as part of the Ferry cost. Well organised and visit to the wineries worked very well. The bus driver was friendly and helpful and provided excellent commentary. Overall a nice day and a very pleasant way to see the Gulf

We sailed around Waiheke Island and the inner gulf taking in Rangitoto Island, Pine Harbour, Coromandel and back to Waiheke. We really live in a fabulous piece of Paradise and would hate to see it destroyed. The weather was stunning with bright sunshine and warm water all the way.If you ever get the opportunity to sail in this part of... More

We journeyed over on a Fuller cruise at 11:00AM. On a warm day, enjoy the weather from the top deck. We paid a small sum to ride the local bus, which made for an interesting adventure. Definitely arrange for some type of transportation since the island is too large to walk safely around. You can rent a bike but be... More

We had a fantastic safari and saw so an incredible amount of wildlife, we were blessed to cruise with a pod of 300 dolphins and spent about 45 minutes with 3 whales, including a Bryde's whale, native to the Hauraki Gulf, that came right up to the boat. Magic!

When for a short cruise out into Hauraki Gulf, and found it wonderful to cruise around. Would recommend that any person planning to go cruising given themselves plenty of time to cruise around the gulf and enjoy it

Take a ferry to Waiheke (jump on the 'local' bus and just pay to go to the end of the trip and back, you will see colourful locals and beautiful scenery,,) travel the ferry outside on the viewing deck, breathe the clean air, great views of Auckland and the surrounding Islands

There are so many options - walk on the beaches, swim, fish, waterski, kayak, dolphin-watch. The Gulf is free and very accessible - get out there and enjoy it! Lots of interesting islands to visit too - birds on Tiritiri Matangi or climb Rangitoto for the views.

We took a 40 minute ferry from the terminal in Auckland to Waiheke Island. It was a super day for 38 dollars each. A free shuttle bus takes you into the town centre at Onerua or you can pay 9 dollars for a day ticket to use the buses. We had lunch and then did a great walk along a... More

Devonport is well worth the visit to get a flavour of early NZ. Interesting tour and pleasant shore front street. Waikiki Island a nature reserve with some terrific wilderness walking. The tour is well worth the money if time or energy are short. Somewhat dusty. Superb views from the peak, and well maintained boardwalk from tour train.

Auckland's Hauraki Gulf is truly a paradise. Hop on a ferry from downtown Auckland and in 15 minutes you are in gorgeous Devonport. Venture further and you can visit Rangitoto or in 30 minutes you are at fabulous Waiheke. Rain or shine these attractions are well worth a visit. Of course the Gulf consists of many more islands that are... More
