If I could give it 6 stars I would. Such a quaint little place . So interesting . Great helpful staff. Good cafe. My 5 and 7 year old spent 6 hours wandering round . They were fascinated. Aucklands best kept secret

Very informative exhibits.... really gives you appreciation of how comfortable our lives are by comparison to these brave early settlers. Beautiful setup of "telling their story"... we enjoyed it completely even when we went on the "non-live" day where they would have volunteers dress up...More

You actually feel like you have stepped through a door in to another time with chickens running free, staff dressed in period clothing and the layout of the buildings.

I don't know either as we were on a self-drive holiday but the "I site" in Auckland ( down on the harbour) would be able to advise you, they are fantastic sites all around NZ to help with this sort of enquiry and tours... More

The villiage is open every day but better to go on the weekends when there is more activity. The best accommodation is Halfmoon bay Marina which is a short drive away but also 5 minutes walk to the ferry terminal where you... More
