We were an adult family group of 10 for Sunday lunch, which was not a great experience. After our waitress disappeared for a break we we largely ignored by the wait staff for most of our time there. The seafood chowder had a tasteless base...More

A lovely beach with families, kids, couples, all out for a walk or sail. Lovely homes overlooking the bay for gawkers like me to admire....spent a Sunday morning here and felt the stress melt away

From Achilles Point, there's an expansive view of the city. Beautiful both daytime or nighttime. Then you can meander down the hill to the numerous Cafes and restaurants to pick what suits. It's a great introduction to Auckland for any travellers, and a great way...More

Sadly this is no longer the quiet local village where everyone knew each other and you could stop and talk to your neighbours in the street. This is now an expensive tourist location that has gone up-market and lost it's heart.

A great place for a walk on the beach or promenade. Good shops and cafes, good shade and wonderful for sun.
