This is the perfect spot for families and a picnic on a nice day. The views are just breathtaking and the beautiful sound of the plentiful Tui birds make it a piece of paradise. So worth the visit. Would highly recommend.

While in Auckland, we went to Devonport to walk around and have lunch, then went to North Head. There were extensive tunnels for the former military installation, and walking trails with great views of Auckland. It was a nice history lesson and a good walk.

Sorry for the delay answering. It is a bit of a steep walk up, but there is car access. Beautiful views from the top so well worth the effort and time either way.
