We had walked down K street several times going to other areas like Ponsonby. Twice to stop in at the Eagle Bar. K street is kind of on the fringe street with various venues attracting the likes of those who enjoy used clothing, female strippers...More

Once Auckland's premier shopping area it has mostly escaped redevelopment and is all the better for it. Yes it's a bit shabby but that's part of its charm. Along with an eclectic mix of bars, restaurants, music venues, strip clubs and shops. If you're looking...More

The title of my review pretty much says it all. The area was dirty, and the establishments not the kind that generate confidence. Better times are to be had elsewhere.

Not quite the nicest area of Auckland, but that's the benefit of it. If it's a strip club you're looking for and you happen to be in NZ, this is your place.

I really don't see the reason for including this as one of Auckland's "attractions". It's just a very ordinary road with various small shops (including lots of second-hand clothes shops), plus cafes/takeaways and bars. Overall it looks quite shabby and run-down.

While the bars change their name and management every other month (so it seems) the scene is perpetually "the same"... under 25's drinking too much and females not wearing enough. If you're over 25, better place are had at Brittomart and Viaduct.

Karangahape Road (locally known as K'Rd) – especially the block between Queen Street and Pitt Street - is both great fun and architecturally very interesting. It's an eclectic collection of funky cafes, second-hand/vintage clothing stores (some of it very cheap) and good eateries, in an...More

walked up a mighty hill to get there but well worth it. Had a great, if slightly grungy (not a problem for us), atmosphere - good cafes, lunch spots and GREAT vintage clothing and bric a brac stores. The arcade was a find and people...More

We're staying a a nearby hotel from this street, and after readi the reviews thought we'd check it out. It's just a long street full of kebab shops and takeaways. People sleeping rough and sleezy strip clubs lining the steets. No real appeal and didn't...More
