Great small theatre

Attended Rocky Horror Picture show. Great little quaint theatre. Very well run and ambience great. Would definitely go to more shows at this theatre.

This medium sized theatre has been a fixture in Hamilton for decades and has served the city well by hosting many different types of entertainments. The layout provides a fairly large, but not deep stage and a very broad fan-shaped seating plan that allows everyone to be fairly close to the stage and to have a good view. The acoustics... More

The Founder's Theatre is Hamilton's biggest theatre, and I have been there for many occasions both performing and being an audience member in the auditorium. The theatre was beautiful, however was a little run down in some areas and it's a shame that they needed to shut it down until further reconstruction happens. Hopefully they'll sort it soon, because a... More

I have been there for various shows and most of the time it is sufficient. But when it comes to a real concert, the sound effects are disappointing.

many people say this theatre is old and badly in need of refurbishment. This is rubbish. It is perfectly adequate. Comfortable, warm and well enough serviced. The acoustics are good and it is a nice intimate theatre. Any seat in the house is ok. I have been there twice this month and enjoyed very much both performances

Been to a couple of shows and it's fantastic. Nice to sit down and relax without people in front standing up

...but really all we have in Hamilton. The seating is very cramped and small and the air con can be somewhat fickle but the sound quality is generally ok. You can feel like you're a million miles away from the action if you have seats in the range of W-ZZ. Recently saw Bill Bailey and it was a full house.... More

I often attend Founders Theatre to see some of the best shows in the world. The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra performs here on a regular basis. It hosts a range of music and other shows. The theatre is well run with a bar and sells ice creams at half time.
