Access by car is tricky. The roads up are steep, bendy and narrow. You will have to negotiate stand-offs with oncoming vehicles and even have to go into reverse! We know, we did it this way two years ago. Not for the timid or nervous...More

The lookout is always a clean and pleasant place to visit There is a short little bush walk at 1 end and great views across Hawke bay and out to the ranges

View on the harbour is nice. You see the area that was created by the earthquake but you don’t see the parade. You can drive with a car to the top. Not a must do.

Bluff Hill lookout is high up for a scenic view north over Hawkes Bay and Napier's port area Great for photos and sunsets

It's worth going up the rather windy and quite narrow road to the Bluff Hill lookout area. You'll be rewarded by a 270 plus degree panoramic sweep south of the the airport which is out to your west right around the coastline to the north...More

The drive up was the most exciting point! Once at the look out we parked up and looked at a working dock full of logs......

Well worth the steep drive to the top. Amazing views. The car park at the top got quite full as we were leaving making it hard to get out, but other than that it was great!

It was a nice view of the bay but mainly of the port containers and the cruise ship that was visiting that day. No view of the town and Marine parade. Cannot take your motor homes all the way so you will have to walk...More
