We were recommended the ship tour by an old crew, we were actually staying with Russell who finished off the building of the boat when the proprietor was unable. As soon as we heard about it, we had to do it. At $149 each it was a little more than we wanted to spend on an activity but it was... More

Wonderful way to explore the Bay of Islands. Friendly staff, great lunch and interesting activities participating in the sailing if you wanted to, going ashore an island in a smaller boat and sailing with the dolphins.

Kia ora and thank you for your lovely review. You were so lucky to have dolphins swim along. As we are not allowed to alter course to go near them, we are always thrilled when they decide to come and play with us instead! More

A tall ship sailing the Bay of Islands and under sail where possible. The scenery, sails, crew and lunch make this a not to be missed experience

Thank you for your positive feedback - we are delighted you enjoyed your day sailing with us. We are a bit confused with your comment on price. Our ticket price is $149, you may have misread the sign? It sounds like your agent on shore got you a good deal, Kia ora! More

Great day out on the bay with this gorgeous ship and her skilled crew. Good lunch, and -ADDED BONUS- we met a traditional waka, filmed by drone. Film will be used for Captain Cook celebrations. Amazing day on the water!

Kia ora and thanks for providing your feedback on your day sailing with us. We're delighted you had a good time. You can see the photos taken by the drone online by searching for Te Au Marie 1769. You may spot the use of Photoshop on one of them! More

I had never been on a sailing ship before, and I am not a good sailor, but it sounded lovely! At first I was holding tight to the ship, but by the end of the trip I was much more relaxed. Guests are invited to steer the ship and also help with the rigging and sails, which was good fun.... More

We had an amazing day sailing from Russell to the islands. The crew were fantastic, food incredible. Climbing the rigging swimming in the ocean. Taking in the beauty of the bay of islands. The freedom on the boat to get involved sailing and great company. An unforgettable day suitable for all ages would highly recommend. Fabulous!😀😀😀😀❤️🇦🇺🍷☀️

After setting sail from Russell we were given the option of sitting back and relaxing or participating in the actual sailing. There was a small child who was a tad unruly and I feel a life jacket would have made a few passengers relax a bit.

From the moment we boarded, until the moment we left, we were in awe of the ship, the Bay of Islands and especially the crew. Skipper Terry had such a welcoming personality. I complimented him on how patient and trusting he was with his boat. The guests were allowed to climb the masts, steer the ship and help as much... More

Kia ora and thank you for your lovely feedback. We often find that the best sailing is in the afternoon when the breeze gets up, sometimes the mornings can be calm and still. Lovely weather, but not so good for sailing. We're glad you enjoyed your day with us and will pass your feedback on to the crew. More

We sailed on Boxing Day as a family Christmas present and had an incredible day that we will remember for a long time. My 10 year old daughter and I loved helping out with hoisting the sails, climbing the rigging, sitting on the bow spit and swinging off the yard arm, whilst my husband loved sitting enjoying the sail and...
