My husband and I toured the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, during our stay in Bay of Islands. The exhibits at the The Waitangi Treaty Grounds tell the story of founding of New Zealand. The day pass gives you accss to all areas of the grounds including the Newly updated state of the art museum. The museum introduces the story of the... More

I am a New Zealander and I spent about 90 minutes here. Overseas visiters, or other New Zealanders could spend a lot more time here easily, as there is lots to see and do. There is a new museum that is well done and is a very netrual in the way it's exibits are done: not favouring eitehr the European... More

I did the 110NZD tour, meal and concert. It was a brilliant experience which exceed my expectations by far. The passion that goes into the performance and the meal is an experience I will never forget.

This is a must for everyone who visits North Island and wants to understand why it is that New Zealand is the place it is. The treaty (whilst still raising some controversy) explains the underpinning for why New Zealand has managed to integrate all its' Human settlers over time. There are a number of fascinating artefacts to see and the... More

If your up in Paihia you would be mad not to visit the Watangi treaty grounds and learn about NZ's vibrant origin and culture. The site is massive and with an amazing view out to sea. Make sure you attend one of the cultural performances - an awesome Maori experience! Cafe on site did a great lunch as well!

We had been here a few years ago, and were really impressed by all the improvements, including the new museum, on our recent visit. The guided tour was very well done and informative, and the cultural experience was entertaining and professional. We had a nice lunch in the cafe and enjoyed the surrounding walks.

I'm a New Zealander, and I've been there once before, but still this was moving, powerful stuff for me. Maybe because I'm an NZer, it made me feel awfully proud of NZ's race relations. Excellent guide, excellent Moari cultural performance, excellent movie, excellent museum, even the souvenir shop is great!! It was too hot to visit the James Busby residence... More

We bought the $40 entry ticket that includes entry to the entire grounds area (which are beautiful and have a lovely view of the bay), a 45 min guided tour led by a very knowledgable guide, access to the new awesome museum and a 30 min cultural show. It was more... More

I had visited the site about 8 years ago and just wandered around looking at everything. This very recent trip was much better. We had a lovely guide ... Mr Busby really interesting and very knowledgable. The Maori culture at the marae was really fascinating and the musicians/singers extremely good. I learnt much more this time around. Thank you so...
