Excellent visit. The tour guide was the absolute highlight - knowledgeable and entertaining - but the whole experience was very enjoyable. Well presented grounds, entertaining Maori folk experience (mainly music and dancing), spectacular views. A genuinely important historical site being looked after and presented well.

Did the 10am guided tour, very well done had our own headsets and the tour guide (forget his name) was lovely and passionate about the history. We paid the for the ultimate combo and got to go inside the carved meeting house, where we sat and watched the cultural dance. The scenery was beautiful very photogenic.

This is a place where actual history was made. The treaty grounds are superbly maintained and the treaty house itself is worth a visit alone. Such a sense of history surrounds you as you walk around the place. An absolute must-see!!

You can guide yourself, or take a guided tour, which I would recommend. Walking through James Busby's house is very interesting, and if you have... More

The treaty grounds good for a quiet visit at your own pace or you can opt to have a guided tour. In addition to the information and artefacts related to the treaty signing there is also birdlife to be observed.

I had the pleasure of taking the last tour of the day, the last day I was in Paihia. Very interesting and informative and a place all New Zealanders can be proud of. I'll have to return as the Center was closing following my tour and I thus missed the museum. Very impressive Maori facilities and War canoe which is... More

Definitely worth a visit. We did the tour and the show and were very impressed by the staff and the knowledge they were able to pass on. They had a real passion for the history and the place. The grounds are beautiful and easy to walk around.
