Although there was not a lot of water flow the falls were very dramatic, I love the way you can just walk anywhere in New Zealand The walk in the mango forest was brilliant Definitely needs a visit

Our host dropped us off at the falls and we did the 5k walk to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds. We are from WNY with Niagara Falls in our back yard - so while these are nice - they aren't one of those have to places. The walk in the woods was very nice - some small hills/steps, but go early... More

We done the 3 hour Waka (war boat )tour to the falls. We did see others walking around on the land, but I would say they are best viewed from the water. The whole trip was amazing, there was 2 boat loades of us, we had the chief of the clan in charge of us and he was amazing, we... More

I don't understand how these falls are advertised along with the Bay of Islands and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds as what Paihai is famous for. Very underwhelming.

Good natural feature. Obviously the vista depends on recent rainfall. Ample parking close by. If you have half an hour to spare and are passing, call in.

We visited the falls whilst on the Taiamai Waka Taua tour so we viewed the falls from the river. The falls are not very big but are quite dramatic when you turn the corner of the Waitangi and see them and suddenly the peace is broken by the noise. This is a definite must see when in Paihia.

The Falls were not at their best when we visited, following a long dry spell but it was still a pleasant place to visit & watch a while in the sunshine. A few crazy youngsters were jumping into the river below despite all the warning signs, happily all those we saw survived the experience!

There is a good path from Waitangi to Haruru Falls. It is a return walk or one way if someone can provide transport back from Haruru. If you enjoy nature walks this is for you. The walk follows an estuary with a long boardwalk part crossing the estuary. Note the forest growing right to the high tide line. Amazing how... More

These are small falls on the edge of Paihia. They're waterfalls. They're nice. It's very easy to get to, very short walk from the car park. As waterfalls they're no Iguazu, but they're...nice. Plus, there are random chooks running around. Bonus points for that. I recommend seeing them, but you can easily drop by on the way to/from Waitangi, etc,... More

Not the biggest of falls and when we visited the water levels were low, but enjoyable. You can either drive, walk from Waitangi grounds or even canoe up to them.
