There was about 4 wildlife / animal parks in or around Rotorua - and we're really glad we chose Paradise Valley Springs. We arrived at about 1:30pm (the park closes at about 5pm). Quite by chance we arrived at one of the best possible times. It turns out that the Lion feeding was at 2:30pm followed by Kea feeding at... More

A very well maintained nature reserve with a few interesting animals, although lion enclosure is the really the main attraction. Good for a nice pleasant walk but a bit out of town.

Had this recommended to us by friends, & was really great to go visit. Make sure you go at 2.30pm when the lions are being fed! You get as close as right through the fence from them, which is neat to see them so close. Also amazingly fat trout (the husband was salivating!) gorgeous kunikuni piglets, a donkey, goats, normal... This is a great family place to visit. The animals look well cared for and it is very pleasant to wander around and see the animals. Our children enjoyed being able to feed the animals and the highlight for them was seeing a joey. Feeding time with the lions was great - well worth timing your trip so you can... More

This is a great activity for young families. As I walked around I saw kids wrapped with the friendly animals keen to come and say hello. Definitely time you're trip to be there when the Lion feeding is happening. The girl on the front desk could have been a little more friendlier. I'm a Kiwi so I didn't mind but... More

Have been here a few times, it completely worth it! Love it how the animals all look well cared for and have a nice environment to live in - unlike the zoos! So much fun being able to hand feed some of the animals and the way the park is laid out makes it fun and exciting to see what... More
